Welcome to the California Climate Change Research Database. The database comprises a catalogue of climate change research projects and programs taking place in California, particularly projects or programs receiving federal funding. Data on these programs have been gathered with the generous assistance of researchers throughout the state, who voluntarily provided information on their respective research programs.
A wide range of projects is included, including research on:
The focus of this site is on projects which receive support from sources other than the State government. For a more comprehensive database of State-funded research, The Climate Action Team (CAT) Research Subgroup, which is comprised of representatives from California State agencies, maintains a catalog of State-funded research. The California Climate Change Research Database is made possible by the California Air Resources Board.
Information on programs in this database was compiled through the use of an online survey administered through 2010-11. Responses were obtained from researchers at the University of California, California State University, California Institute of Technology, Stanford, the University of Southern California, and, to a limited extent, the Lawrence Livermore and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories. There is currently no way of knowing how complete any given institution's response is, as a complete list of relevant researchers and/or projects is not available. This database should be considered a living resource. If you are a researcher or representative of an institution with a potentially relevant project, please feel free to submit your program through our online survey.
